To day we visited Ban Dam museum Chiang Rai, packed out with Chinese and Korean tourists with very limited parking available.
Tickets to get in THB 80 each around 2 pounds GB. the gardens are well tended and the building well maintained as for the rest give this place a wide birth I was totally unimpressed and underwhelmed. Guys you all know me I love Thailand and adore Chiang Rai but this is the first place I have visited that I would not go back to nor recommend you waste precious holiday time on.

Theong head south 4 kl on the highway 1021 turn left on to highway 1155 if you stay on the 1155 it loops right round through the mountains and brings you along the Mekong to highway 1020 turn left on the 1020 and it brings you back to the center of Thoeng. round trip is around 160kl, the roads are very quiet and very good indeed. Best time to visit July to Oct everything is very green with the rains. GT

Today I took delivery of a new Lens for the Canon 80D, a Canon EF100 2.8L. it will take a bit of getting used to but the learning curve will be interesting. Today's first outing.

Imagine it raining and the authority's telling you to evacuate your home a day later it disappears down the mountain with 4 neighbors and half the rd, well that's what happened in Pu Chi Fa chaing Rai region Thailand this week. We was on a mountain trip when we came across a closed rd that we normally travel down so we took out our camera and drone, see what mother nature can do when you tick her off!

I have been traveling to Chiang Rai for about 17 years and lived here full time for the last 3 years, in all that time I have tried many restaurants and when it comes to steak they have all been found wanting even the so called high end establishments, until now that is Hungry Wolfs is a joy, a food heaven with an outstanding menu eager to please staff and knockout service. today we had a meal for 8 people, salads, chicken wings, chicken legs, Scallops wrapped in bacon, Pizza, Steak pie, Pork chops, Pork knuckle, and the most divine fillet stake Mignon imported from Australia. French fries, mash potato, peas, more side salads the works including beers and soft drinks.

Recipe and Method Lorne Sausage, with no specialist equipment needed.
Ingredients
1lb pork belly meat
1lb pork shoulder meat cost of the pork was THB 136.
1 cup of porridge oats
1 tbs salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 egg.
½ cup of chilled water
1tsp ground nutmeg
1 ½ tsp ground coriander.
This makes 14 burger style sausages.
Method.
Have the meat minced at the butchers.
Mix the spices and seasonings together.
Place meat in a large bowl add spices mix with hands.
Add oat meal and mix needing in well.
Add egg and a little water mix until smooth with a sticky consistency that barely drops off your inverted hand.
Use a rectangular mold Bread tin is fine line with cling film pour in the mixture smooth and set in the freezer until firm enough to slice.
Take out the molded meat onto a cutting surface and slice into ½ inch thick slices bag and freeze.
Alternatively use a mold ring and make burger type shapes bag and freeze.
Lorne sausage is traditionally with beef or half and half, but as Simon stated he is missing Pork sausages so hence pork only.
Sausage is also made with Rusk (breadcrumbs) but we adapted to ingredients readily available here in Thailand.
